ABSTRACT
This chapter is not a detailed examination of copyright law. Just the same, the buying and selling of rights does not exist exclusively in a purely practical world of production scheduling and rights negotiation. It demands to be set in an appropriate legal context, namely the origins of copyright and what it is that copyright and related rights protect.
