This chapter presents an outlines of project aimed to promote the idea of sustainability, and particularly the bioclimatic strategies in a very peculiar urban situation of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the University of Melbourne, Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning conducts an Investigation Project and the Masters of Urban Design Studio MOST with focus on Mostar. There is no doubt that principles of ecological sustainability must begin to play a critical role in urban development. To achieve that main objective the project builds upon general, globally relevant principles and practices of urban sustainability, but aims to express the quality of particular, specific environmental situation of Mostar. At the same time many aspects of urban and architectural design are politically and socially explicit. Indirectly, practices of sustainable urban development could thus lead towards convivial living that repairs and maintains the environment through rising the individual and communal conscience of inevitability and benefits of living together and in harmony with nature.
