Location: In the province of Piacenza, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy; at the southern end of a large valley of the Apennine mountain chain drained by the Trebbia, near the Trebbia's confluence with its tributary, the Bobbio River; 68 miles south of Milan, 347 miles northwest of Rome.
