ABSTRACT
Location: Ịzmir, capital of the province of the same name, is on the Aegean coast of western Turkey, at the end of the Gulf of Ịzmir, fifteen miles from the sea. The ancient city of Smyrna was situated on a hill near the modern northern suburb of Bayrakh.
