ABSTRACT
This term refers to a large centralized collection of corporate or other organizational data, usually collected from multiple sources. The databases are expected to have been cleaned and the attribute names, values, and relationships regularized. These large collections typically include meta-data, data containing information about the data collection itself. These data warehouses can offer economies of scale but must also tradeoff ease of access with organizational security concerns, as well as privacy concerns.
