ABSTRACT
A data modeling and reporting system that has been structured to answer specific ongoing business questions or issues. It is usually distinguished from classical IS systems by its emphasis on "realtime", or interactive analysis, where the business analyst can use multiple tools on the data to provide answers "now." It should be distinguished from Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD), where the emphasis is on discovering "new" relationships to expand the current data model.
