ABSTRACT
This paper reviews the global perspective for wind power. The review is based on a number of technology foresight studies and other techniques for looking into the future. Today (March 1999) 10, 000 MW of wind power capacity is installed worldwide. TTiis more that the World’s installed nuclear power capacity in 1968 and growth rates are similar. The paper concludes that the global perspectives for wind power are good. There are many reasons to believe that wind power will become as important in the World’s future energy supply as nuclear power is today.
