ABSTRACT
Since the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, world energy demand has been growing as the population has increased and the world economy has grown. The present world primary energy supply has reached approximately 20 times as much as it was 100 years ago based on the development of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas. Since the middle of the last century, nuclear energy has also been generated for practical use.
