100Caplan, filmmaker-in-residence for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company since 1983, describes the genesis of a documentary film focusing on the creation of a new Cunningham dance, CRWDSPCR, and the life of the company during the rehearsal period. He also defines the principles underlying his work with Cunningham on dance films and videos.
