ABSTRACT
Heap after heap of human beings have been dumped on to the historic scene at such an accelerated rate that it has been difficult to saturate them with traditional culture. Nothing is happening now which was not foreseen a hundred years ago. The world which surrounds the new man from his birth does not compel him to limit himself in any fashion, it sets up no veto in opposition to him; on the contrary, it incites his appetite, which in principle can increase indefinitely. There are few men who doubt that motor-cars will in five years' time be more comfortable and cheaper than today. They believe in this as they believe that the sun will rise in the morning. Under the species of Syndicalism and Fascism there appears for the first time in Europe a type of man who does not want to give reasons or to be right but simply shows himself resolved to impose his opinions.
