Psychology and Psychiatry: A Dialogue [1949]

L: It's even possible, isn't it, that the privacy of the setting might permit us to consider some of the controversial problems that we would not as yet dare to discuss in public. We start off with a great advantage. We know that our own mutual regard is based on the fact that we respect each other's competence and that we have not hesitated to deal openly with differences as they have arisen. I am sure that here the same frankness will prevail, especially since we know that our fundamental goals are the same.
