All across America there are countless schools—public, public charter, and private—that have established learning cultures for the students they serve and the communities in which they operate. The Village Leadership Academy (VLA) in Chicago, Illinois, is a private school that has created a culture of learning. The Salemwood School, the HHLA, and the VLA are all schools that have established learning cultures that have engulfed their entire school communities. The school leadership team realized that they needed to build a learning culture.
