ABSTRACT

Israel is denounced in greater detail than Zionism and Jewry. The confrontation of the Arabs with Zionism is connected with a matter of principle, while their confrontation with Israel is rich in events and clashes in many fields— military, political and economic. A major characteristic which is very frequently attributed to Israel, with much repetitious emphasis, is aggressiveness. The description of the Jews as basically treacherous and cunning, and the attribution of treachery to imperialism, Israel, too, is described as a State of intrigue; hypocritical, scheming, and prone to plots and stratagems. The people of Israel are, therefore, an artificial conglomeration, with a morbid nationalism, rent by dissension and conflicting internal pressures. The denunciation of Israel leads the Arabs to find fault with its inhabitants. It is not surprising that we find them criticizing those very aspects that others have praised as Israeli achievements.
