SirJamesFrazerhadbeenbroughtupina devoutandaffectionatePresbyterianfamily, wherehehad'learnedtheShorterCatechismby heartandaccepteditsteachingwithoutquestion asthestandardoforthodoxy.'Likesomany othersofthetime,bothofthemcametoreject thedoctrinesinwhichtheyhadbeenreared, whichweretoonarrow,ortoonarrowlyunderstood,toaccommodatetheirmatureexperience.
