ABSTRACT
The multigenerationality of the event serves a real function—the young people want to know what times were like and if their elders ever saw a Beatles concert. A more visual representation of the multigenerational linkage emerged near the end of the Festival, at the "Battle of the Bands" event. Virtual reality (VR) systems are being used by the United States Air Force in flight training and many hospitals are using VR to instruct budding surgeons in the performance of heart and brain surgery. VR is also being used in psychiatry to help alleviate the pain of combat-related post-traumatic stress syndrome in soldiers returning from Iraq. The process of in vitro fertilization has allowed women in their late fifties and early sixties to give birth to children. Science might enable people to break the very bounds of any limits to fertility and childbearing.
