ABSTRACT
When I was young I was under some conviction and went to hear the Baptist preach, they asked me to join with them, my answer was: Cursed is he that puts his trust in man {illeg.} maketh flesh his arm, and so left them. when I was twenty two years old I married a man that attended the standing order meetings {Congregational Church}, I then went with him two years, but could not find any thing to satisfy my soul, still I believed there were a people some where that did serve God, and thought if I could find them I would be with them, soon Mother and the Elders came to Shirley near where I lived, and I saw saw the believers as they passed by, and felt convinced by their countenances that they were the people of God.
