Blackburn (London, 1976), p. 119ff. The information about the trip to Rome, which Willaert probably made when he came to Italy from Flanders at the time of Leo X, is known from an anecdote told by G. Zarlino in the last chapter of his Dimostrazioni harmoniche, in the Venice editions of 1558 and 1573.
