On the frequent attacks made against the city of Kalmar in Götaland

THERE is a town on the shores of southern Götaland which is called Kalmar by those who sail from Germany into the North, for the reason that on the long voyage they find the sea and skies colder than in their home country.¹ It is certainly not only from Germany that profitable expeditions are made, but often from Spain, France, England, and Holland.²
