ABSTRACT
THE course and issue of wars fought in marshes in the northern king doms always hold these changes and chances for a foreign foe. If things go badly, as often occurs owing to their ignorance of the ter rain, the leaders have one refuge, to make for their vessels, left somewhere at anchor, pursuing trackless, unfrequented routes and short cuts through the forests.
