ABSTRACT

IT is a perilous enjoyment for men to be engaged in cruel wars, often seeking glory as though they were surrounded by pleasures, though this is usually said to be truer in the case of someone who has had no experience of them. Yet it is essential for a bloody war to be embarked on without delay when a man has to protect himself, his family, and his friends from enemy assault, and the people from a tyrant, so that innocent folk may not, under colour of justice, suffer oppression and false accusations.
