ABSTRACT
THE majority of prudent soldiers who are doing battle in places by the sea or next to lakes, if they have not learnt the art of swimming, usually take with them a leather bag with a tube attached to it; using this they can blow up the bag, which is tied under their arms to their neck, so that the heavier part of the body is below it.
