MOREOVER, for enemy cavalry there is another sight, or peril, that must inevitably be dreaded. This is that because of the cold, which is a property of snow, along with water beneath and frost above, round lumps of snow shaped like balls, up to the size of a child's head, soon form over the iron-shod hooves of the horses.
