STONEMASONS are dependable and skilful, as one might expect with these energetic people, for in almost all the work they do they build the walls thick, thanks to the huge plenty of their materials.1 Yet, as I shall mention later, it is not so much in the interests of beauty as durability that they strengthen them against every kind of assault.
