THE way in which northern women guard their chastity is wonderfully steadfast, so that, even when they have contracted an honourable marriage, they at times refuse their embraces; in other words, their firmness is such that, by putting a drawn sword in the bed between them and their husbands, they wholly restrict intercourse between them.
