ABSTRACT

SINCE the sacrament of marriage is a highly revered institution and a secure basis for procreation, together with the fact that under divine and human authority it is esteemed by all who are partners within it, it is performed with so many ceremonies and rites and before so many wit nesses, especially among the people of the North, that, with no disrespect to the praiseworthy customs of all other nations, I would hardly believe that this sacrament can anywhere be confirmed with a stronger bond than in those countries.
