ABSTRACT
A few pieces of evidence will go to show how great at one time was the Northerners' skill in and practice of the wonderful art of music. 1There were many who were so well versed in playing the lute, fiddle, lyre, harp, and all stringed instruments, that by their turns of melody they could move people's moods to whatever emotions they wished.
