FRANCISCUS Irenicus also records, in Bk II, Ch. 24, that it was customary among the Germans to wheel their horses in a circle and make them rear up high;1but I maintain that it was among the Goths of the North that wheeling horses in a circle first came into common practice, and hardening them to it by continual training.
