ABSTRACT
AMONG other instruments of warfare the peoples of the North have also had cannon fitting side by side, like organs or clusters of pipes lashed together, especially when they were about to encounter enemy cavalry, so that, when they ignited them and shot them off at the foe either all together or one after another, they might quickly charge their pieces again with powder and balls and aim them against their adversary whenever he made a move.1
