ABSTRACT

There were certainly preconceptions about Starlets with most of the ideas being based on conjecture from various public sources. It is not uncommon for environments, like lap-dancing clubs, which are surrounded by secrecy and mystery, to be assessed largely on the grounds of speculation. Starlets was situated just outside of the city centre, hidden amid the tall buildings that frame the city, remaining inconspicuous and a mystery for those who have not intentionally sought out its location. Its locality is also reflective of how it has been negatively received by the local community, though its location is nonetheless in contradiction to reports of lap-dancing clubs being a main feature of the high street. When first entering the changing room it seemed spacious. The white walls were tiled with large square mirrors bordered with bright lights, the reflections from which provided the illusion of a wide space.
