ABSTRACT

One of the challenges with regard to Séverac’s output centers around the number of compositions that were either unfinished, unpublished, or lost. Some works have been discovered in recent years and published, thanks, in part, to the initial attention that Elaine Brody gave to Séverac’s piano music in her 1964 dissertation. 1 More needs to be accomplished in uncovering additional manuscripts, however, which will then provide us with a fuller view of Séverac as a composer.
