ABSTRACT

From the gures of Table No. 59 we may form an estimate as to the total production of the Burmese oil- elds since the end of the last century. Supposing that the average production per year up to 1826 amounted to 43·2 lakhs of viss (3·6 lakhs of viss per month), from 1826 to 1873 54 lakhs of viss per year (4·5lakhs of viss per month), from 1873 to 1885 48 lakhs of viss per year (4 lakhs of viss per month), and that from 1885 up to the end of 1890 the / total production amounted to 330 lakhs, the following represents the total production since 1795 –

From 1795 to 1826, 31 years, at 43·2 lakhs of viss 1,339·2 lakhs of viss. From 1826 to 1873, 47 years, at 54 lakhs of viss 2,538 lakhs of viss. From 1873 to 1885, 12 years, at 48 lakhs of viss 576 lakhs of viss. From 1885 to 1890 330 lakhs of viss. Total 4,783·2 lakhs of viss.
