‘Barrett vs. The Conn. Mutual Life. Counsel’s Statement of the Case’, Insurance Monitor Supplement (1869)

We take great pleasure in publishing the following letter from Judge Walker, the company’s counsel in the recent suit at Detroit. Nothing could be more unjust than the hue and cry that was attempted against the Connecticut Mutual for litigating the case, under the circumstances. We have heard some complaints of the company’s excessive liberality in the settlement of claims, but never any just imputation of a lack of that most commendable virtue.
