ABSTRACT
A lengthy article having appeared in the Secretary of late commendatory of Life Insurance, I feel it my duty to present a scruple concerning it. I now refer to the propriety of Ministers engaging in any such compact. I have no superstitious feelings about it; nor have I the least disposition to injure the Conn. Life Insurance Co., or any other Company of the like character. The question whether Jesus Christ’s Ministers should resort to such a method to obtain property for their families after their decease, is a question of conscience.
