ABSTRACT
A class teacher is responsible for a good deal of the children's individual work, and he must see to it that they organize their work with due regard to the various subjects. The time-table is a frame or scheme of the day's work, and the teacher must have all possible freedom to arrange the work for any given time as he likes. A syllabus of history that necessitates the teacher talking and the class listening is bad. Even the youngest of teachers going into school for the first time is expected to draw up a syllabus of the course of lessons he proposes to take. It is perhaps necessary to write on examinations in a section dealing with the organization of school work if it is only to warn the beginner of the waste of time and energy when too much importance is attached to them.
