ABSTRACT

The fourth and final case-study chapter tracks the experiences of Dora, a 20-year-old professional accountancy major in the Faculty of Business Administration at CUHK. She had the highest level of intercultural competence in this cohort before and after the intercultural intervention, as measured by the IDI and the analysis of the rich mixed-method data. Her aspiration to develop close multicultural friendships was not fully realised in Canada; however, after she returned to Hong Kong she continued to initiate intercultural interactions, and on a daily basis she was using her second language to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds in her workplace.
