ABSTRACT

The department of human resource management, commonly known as HR, is responsible for providing manpower to various departments of the organization and coordinating their management. The HR department coordinates the process of recruitment of manpower required by various departments of the organization. Some organizations have a policy to retire the staff members upon attaining a certain age, which is generally 60–65 years. HR is required to keep track of the age of each staff member and issue a prior notice to the individual. Other activities are similar to resignation. Termination of a staff member is one of the most challenging tasks in an organization and HR is expected to take a lead in the process. Since individuals and groups of people work in an organization, many interpersonal dynamics are in operation. Every individual is different in terms of his or her nature, motivation, behavior, habits, working style, ego, and many other factors.
