Vision is a great example of the blend of art and science in leadership. Clear goals and metrics must be part of vision, but they are not enough to inspire others. In other circumstances, the vision is a rebirth of a relatively successful enterprise. To find reader’s vision, like Arthur's knights of old, they must enter the forest on their own path. Although reader must enter alone, the wise leader learns from the external environment and from the people they are leading. By rushing to change the culture, these leaders had to take even more time reconnecting and starting over before the organizations would allow them to lead. For instance, are reader’s trying to break down silos? Besides taking a clear stand with clarity about how breaking down silos will help reader hit their bottom line and process goals, reader need a human factors strategy aligned with their vision.
