ABSTRACT

Buying equipment is easy, preventing it from collecting dust from non-use is not. Worse is having the equipment dumbed down to add nothing to the learning experience. Many talk about “using technology;” this is a red flag and implies that it is an add-on to their existing approaches. The biggest divide to cross is getting people to understand that the value of digital tools is the interaction pathway they create. The digital engagement is by design a multiple pathway and not a singular event from teacher to student. In terms of motion it is an active pursuit rather than a passive activity. This idea is not new; progressive educators of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century championed the idea of experiential learning.
