ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of the book. The book starts with the framework for continuous school improvement and comprehensive data analysis. It describes each of the components of the framework, structures that lead to a commitment to improved teaching and learning, and provides examples and activities for schools to do the work on their own. The book also describes the framework for continuous school improvement that provides a simple, logical structure for reviewing and using multiple measures of data, creating and implementing a shared vision, and for measuring the impact of the vision and the vision implementation strategies on student learning. It focuses on how to create, implement, and monitor a schoolwide, shared vision. The book provides structures for mere mortals to use to evaluate their continuous school improvement efforts, including evaluation of programs and processes, continuous school improvement plan, goals, and vision.
