ABSTRACT

Continuous school improvement uses evaluation to know how the school got to where it is now, as well as which programs and processes are working and not working, and how to ensure the attainment of the school goals using the most effective processes and programs. Evaluation is a fundamental component of continuous school improvement. High-quality continuous school improvement plans tell staff how to implement the school vision. Most school improvement plans have a measurement column that indicates whether or not an activity has been completed. To evaluate the implementation of the plan, one needs to think about how staff will know that the planned strategies were implemented. Setting up the evaluation of the plan, vision, or program/process using the Program Evaluation Tool will take about an hour. Following through with the data analysis will take a couple of hours, depending upon the availability of the data.
