The Quran was scientific, and science was Quranic. Science and Islam were not exactly the same, but they were mutually supportive, or at least they were non-contradictory in their separate realms of spiritual truth and experience. They coexisted in peace and harmony. The exercise begins with certain words occurring in the Quran, such as moon, sun, stars, sky, heavens, lightning, thunder, rain, clouds, wind, earthquake, mountains, and motion. Islamic Science calls for the rejection of modern secular science in order to reframe a spiritual and ethical science to be extracted from the Quran. The theme of the meeting was the existence and efficacy of Quranic miracles: "The Scientific Miracles of the Quran and Sunna." The scientists and religious scholars who spoke at the conference established to their satisfaction that not only did the miracles described in the Quran occur, but indeed, all science has its origins in the Quran and sunna.
