ABSTRACT

Chapter 10, “Quasi-Experimental Approaches to Outcome Evaluation” presents these common methods of evaluation—a range of intermediate forms of research design between the simple assessment of a single group and formal experiments. Important details about a number of the forms are presented along with graphical illustrations and cautions about potential complications. In addition, online resources provide guidance and instruction in a number of techniques to make sense of the findings from these designs. The chapter concludes with a case study evaluating the introduction of regular use of therapy outcome measures among practicum students in a doctoral clinical psychology program.
