ABSTRACT

The various steps of the Circular Economy strategic management process have repeatedly highlighted the importance of working with accurate information and to implement effective systems for data gathering, monitoring, and assessment. Life Cycle Costing (LCC) helps to calculate the total costs of a product or service along its entire life cycle. Although it originated as a tool for financial analysis in neoclassical economics, LCC has proved a valuable resource to support the integration of green solutions at the design stage of product development as well as during procurement. The most studied and adopted of the product-related tools is undoubtedly Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), a methodological approach used to identify and measure all the environmental impacts associated with a product or service along its entire life cycle. LCA has been widely used in the public sector as well, with applications in resource and waste management at a country level.
