ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an analysis of the space sector in the US. It focuses on the other space nations starting from the more established players, the fast growing emerging economy players, others players to the space service economy country players. On 8 October 1956, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, presided over by Mao Zedong, established the Fifth Research Academy of the Ministry of National Defense to develop the country's space effort. In 1964 the European Space Research Organization and the European Launcher Development Organization were created in an attempt to create a collaborative framework. The importance of space to Europe's is defined within the Lisbon Strategy which aims to make "the Union the most advanced knowledge-based society in the world". The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission started building the small amateur radio satellite in late 1986 with support from the Pakistan Amateur Radio Society.
