ABSTRACT

We need to base any argument on empirical evidence and sound reasoning in order to appeal to the objective truth in any particular situation. But we also need to be aware of the cultural values at play. We need to critically examine the source and validity of our cultural frames of reference and our values. We need to rationally choose the best way to be biased, and we need to be able to explain why our bias is reasonable and good. A warrant is the honest and open disclosure of rationally chosen bias.
