ABSTRACT

Our perception of the objective world is mediated by biology and culture. While the individual human mind is at the center of knowledge formation, transmission, and use, the phenomenon of knowledge emerges from the interaction between the individual mind and other minds in the social environment. Every human being inherits various ways of thinking and acting that are particular to a unique social context, which is called culture. From birth, almost everyone is monitored, disciplined, and punished from parents, teachers, and police. This leads to a herd mentality of group-thinking and group-acting; however, individual agency is still possible.
