ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at how the World Bank and associated donor processes are addressing transboundary water disputes and attempting to improve water interactions between India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. The main goals that underpin the work of these international actors include good water governance and hydro-diplomacy, regional stability, sustainable development, poverty eradication and climate change resilience. Knowledge sharing is a fundamental task underpinning all these goals. They are also all based on globally prevailing paradigms and the ‘sanctioned discourse’ of good water governance.
