ABSTRACT

An organization's strategy influences everything an organization subsequently does to successfully implement the strategy. A structured training program approach represents the organization's efforts at pursuing change systematically to facilitate employee learning, which is necessary if the organization is to succeed in implementing the new strategy. Andragogy was the learning theory selected, because andragogy focuses specifically on adult learning and how to engage the adult learner in the learning process. The Ross Instructional Systems Design model (RISD) and the Ross Instructional Systems Design Process model (RISDP) demonstrate two important aspects associated with the design of training programs. A formal process represents a systematic approach to follow in providing order to the training program. The variety of scenarios is meant to demonstrate the wide range of circumstances an organization might confront and how the RISD and RISDP models are universally applicable. The adult learner believes that advanced knowledge and skills can lead to new career opportunities.
