ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the five major structural dimensions in all societies, namely: the cultural, the social, the economic, the political and the ideological dimensions. It explains each one of these, in turn, and provides some further comments on and offers some recommendations for how to address their role in the mismanagement of the educational system. A federal/national set of guidelines must be adopted, a template upon which to craft any education policies that are befitting any particular community. Parents need to participate in their children's education in a meaningful way, with knowledge, insight, criticality and foresight with regard to how their school facility, program, faculty and curricula will be organized and implemented. Education structures are artful, but they are based upon science and cannot be built on a foundation of politicized agendas or speculative impressions and preferences. There can be a meaningful cooperation between national parameters and the specific needs of all school districts.
