ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the effect of nationality and the way that this can impact individualism/collectivism, together with other variables relevant to inclusive leadership. It presents three case study organisations, Royal Mail Sales, APAM and PageGroup, all illustrate the way in which office space can be used to enhance inclusive leadership. The chapter looks at the five factors that set the conditions for an inclusive culture, and, with the exception of one (moderate relations between leaders and subordinates) they all appear to be present, in different degrees, in the case study organizations. As seen from the case study organisations, strong teamworking appears to provide fertile ground in which inclusive leadership can take root, and the principle of teamworking rests on collectivism, the polar opposite principle to individualism.
